The egg. If you have been on the internet in the past two weeks you will know exactly which egg we are talking about. Who knew that a month into 2019 we would be on a first name basis with an egg, but here we are.
If you haven’t been on the internet or it was broken (probably by the egg…) and you missed it allows us to give you a quick recap. The Instagram account, @world_record_egg was created on January 4, 2019 – posting a photo of an egg with the challenge to beat Kylie Jenner in having the most liked photo on the platform (18.4 million likes). In under 10 days, the egg became the most liked photo on Instagram and as of January 25, 2019, has 51 million likes. Plus, the account has 9 million followers and an engagement rate of 255.7%.
In the past week, the account has posted two more photos showing the egg cracking and we have some predictions as to what will hatch when it finally does…
