ACCESS TO NYFW // STREAMING LIVE FROM THE RUNWAY

As we recover from the whirlwind that is New York Fashion Week, we’re taking the time to reflect on which brands had social wins this season. The fashion industry has embraced Periscope more than any other industry and with this being their very first fashion week, it’s no surprise that over 97 designers were using this platform to bring fans straight to the runway.

An obvious success came from House of Herrera who had the most engagement (including 15 live streams), letting fans go on a backstage tour led by supermodel Lily Aldridge. One of the most anticipated partnerships was between Rag & Bone and Uber, where fans were given the chance to be picked up and taken directly to the runway. The overwhelming interest in this campaign caused the Uber app to crash. We love this pairing but it’s always wise to have a backup plan should platforms encounter technical difficulties. One thing everyone can agree upon is that Social Media is revered as the leading creative extension for brands to showcase their collections to the world.

Next up, Milan Fashion Week! See you there.
