The platform that has already gained millions of users from its launch in 2016, TikTok is expanding and providing new updates for its users. While TikTok content was primarily captured on mobile devices only, the company has announced that it will be providing an option to upload via Desktop.
This option will make it easier for both its individual and brand users to edit their content on computers and share out more curated and polished videos to their followers. This new update can be seen as both a positive and a negative to the TikTok community.
More curated content on TikTok would skew away from the in-the-moment type content that TikTok has promoted. It looks like TikTok is following the footsteps of its mobile-first predecessor Instagram with this new desktop option, which asks the question, what will TikTok launch next?
