Social // Facebook Introduces ‘Workplace’

This week Facebook has released a new social network centered around existing users and communication. Workplace – which is launching on both desktop and mobile app, allows anyone to create groups for both your own company and with others, encourages direct messaging and live video, and much more.

To set itself a part from competitors like Slack and Yammer, Facebook wants to bring a wider wedge of employees who serve customers, maintain machinery or otherwise are not sitting at a desk as part of their jobs. Facebook aims to target people who may already be using Facebook, but who have not been co-opted into an organizations digital collaboration in the past.

While Workplace may not be the first of its kind, Facebook is giving it a few twists.

Make sure to check it out! Xx
