Ever since he scratched the Yves from Saint Laurent, Hedi Slimane, the Creative Director for Saint Laurent Paris, has been pushing the brand further from the runway and closer to the streets. Tonight in Los Angeles he will be showcasing a slew of LA based punk bands in tandem with the Fall 2016 Men’s collection and Part 1 of the Fall 2016 Women’s collection at the legendary Hollywood Palladium. Local staples like, Ariel Pink, Bleached and No Parents will be playing the event which they are calling a “tribute to the strong music scene in Los Angeles.” Slimane might single handedly propel Los Angeles into the forefront of the fashion scene as his advocacy for the city has been growing strong ever since he opened shop here in 2012. Saint Laurent also started its first Instagram last month where black and white videos, directed by Slimane, gave fans a sneak peak into what’s to come at tonight’s show. If you weren’t one of the lucky peeps to receive a black embossed, hand delivered invitation, have no fear, they will be live streaming the show on ysl.com.
