Facebook is adding two new additions to their analytics capabilities. Advanced Facebook analytics will be available along with Instagram analytics (finally!).
Instagram analytics will give marketers more data than what is available through the app’s insights. What does this entail? Deeper engagement metrics (including retention rates and lifetime value of users who interact with an Instagram page). Additionally, the ability to create segments around engaged audiences and see who visited its app or website, or engages with their Facebook page the most.
For Facebook, advanced analytics will add more to their insights, including a broader view of impact (taking into account more actions on your Page), post impressions, Page unfollows and follows, and much more. The goal is to take this data and create new audience segments, track conversions and the path to purchase, and compare all audience demographics by channel and their activity.
You can currently request early access through Facebook, as these betas will be rolling out over the next several months. The rollout of these capabilities allow brands native tools to measure strategy, especially with the addition of Instagram analytics – this is huge news for the social world.
